"Getting rear-ended by a State Farm driver brought me to their company.

My own former insurance company, which I'd been with for 18 years, treated me like a liability and a stranger when I called to say my new-to-me car had been hit on day 6 after I bought it. "Well, I'm not sure you're covered; we will have to double-check this." When I countered that I couldn't have driven off the lot without coverage, the agent doubled down. "I'll have to get back to you about this. Someone will contact you."

State Farm, on the other hand, treated me like a human being: they quickly helped me get my car fixed, got me a rental, and paid my medical bills. I couldn't believe it. They have been the opposite of my experiences with other customer service of late. At a time when "customer care" means a bot, or an unsympathetic, burned-out stranger on the phone, and intentional shirking of responsibility through misdirection...both agents I worked with felt like talking to an affectionate, compassionate neighbor or acquaintance.

I immediately requested quotes to move my car, renters, and homeowner's insurance to State Farm. Their prices are lower than my previous company, and as I discuss the switch with friends, I have been delighted to hear such comments as, "Oh, we love our State Farm agent. We have been with him for 27 years." My agent, Keeren, feels like a friend. She listened, educated me, offered options, and dedicated time to helping me make the switch. The entire experience feels like stepping back in time to a culture that treated consumers with dignity and respect. I could not be more grateful. Thank you all, State Farm."
